“Death to the United States, Death to Israel”: A demonstration of hatred in the speech of the President of Iran

President of Iran Ibrahim Raisi Speaking today (Friday) on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in the country that occurred in 1979. In his speech, the president referred to the nuclear negotiations with the powers in Vienna and said: “We have no hopes for talks aimed at reviving the 2015 agreement.”

Raisi added that “we hang hopes on our people and in our country we will never hang hopes in Vienna or New York.” However, he noted that Iran’s foreign policy is in a state of “balanced relations with the world, and attaches special importance to neighboring countries.” The president referred to the Islamic Revolution and said: “The most independent state in the world is the Islamic Republic. Muslims and oppressed people love the revolution that took place in Iran.”

He said, “Freedom, justice and independence are the slogans of the Islamic Revolution that they carried and still carry. The revolution has created a new civilization that has important characteristics and it rejects corruption and injustice.”

The audience present at Raisi’s speech repeatedly interrupted his chants with “Death to America,” which was a unique slogan in the revolution, and also chanted “Death to England” and “Death to Israel.” This is the second year that the Iranians are celebrating the anniversary of the revolution, and in the streets of Tehran one could watch car convoys and Iranian flags fluttering all over the city.
