Iran: The death toll from a 10-storey commercial building collapse in the southwestern Iranian city of Abadan has risen to 19, the state news agency said.
So far, 37 people have been injured and are being treated in hospitals, Kuznetsov province deputy governor Ehsan Abbaspur told reporters. About 2,000 workers are involved in the rescue operation.
Police are investigating the incident. The owner and contractor of the building have been arrested. They are under investigation.
On Monday, a 10-storey building collapsed and crashed. Fourteen people were killed in the crash. Authorities subsequently arrested the city’s mayor.
