Death toll rises to 375 in Hurricane Roy: Philippine people helpless

ManilaAt least 375 people have been killed in Typhoon Rai in the Philippines. The super typhoon, Roy, was moving at 175 kilometers per hour. The hurricane reportedly injured 500 people and left 56 missing. More than 380,000 people have fled the Philippines for fear of a typhoon.

Communication has been disrupted due to power outages in many areas. Many homes, schools and hospitals collapsed along the coast. Soldiers, the Coast Guard and the fire brigade are conducting rescue operations in the affected areas. These areas were overseen by Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte. He also directed that immediate relief be provided to those affected by the natural calamity.
