Google is equipping Gmail with a suite of AI-driven tools designed to address common email challenges. AI Overviews function similarly to those in Google Search, synthesizing lengthy email threads into concise summaries. According to a company blog post, this feature allows users to quickly grasp the key points of a conversation “without the digging.†AI Overview summaries are available to all Gmail users at no cost.More advanced capabilities, such as the ability to ask questions directly within your inbox using AI Overviews, are reserved for subscribers to Google AI Pro and Ultra plans.
The company has also expanded its “Help me write†tool, now encompassing features like automated drafting, Suggested replies, and Proofread.While “Help Me Write†and “Suggested Replies†are universally accessible, the “Proofread†function is exclusive to Google AI Pro and ultra subscribers.
