Chhatra Dal leaders and activists held a protest march and rally in the capital to protest the killing of Chhatra Dal leader Jamil Hasan Arnab in Comilla.
On Saturday (March 16) at 3 pm, a protest march was started in front of the BNP central office in Naya Paltan of the capital. The procession ends with a short rally at Nightingale Junction in Cockrail.
Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nashir Uddin Nashir condemned and protested the killing of Chhatra Dal leader Jamil Hasan Arnab in Comilla and demanded arrest of the killers and ensure proper justice.
At this time, Chhatra Dal leaders said that the brutality of Chhatra League does not stop even in the month of Ramadan. There was an armed conflict between the two forces of the Chhatra League for dominance in Comilla. At that time, Jamil Hasan Arnab, student leader of Comilla South District, was shot dead by terrorist forces while passing the incident site on his way home after Friday prayers. Arnav was taken to Comilla Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Also present in the protest march were — Central Parliament Senior Vice President Abu Afsan Mohammad Yaihia, Senior Joint General Secretary Shyamal Malum, Organizing Secretary Amanullah Aman, Office Secretary Jahangir Alam and Publicity Secretary Sharif Pradhan Shubo. Also, former leaders of Central Parliament along with leaders of Dhaka University branch of Chhatra Dal were present.
