Fayulu, Sesanga, Matata and Katumbi
Matata Ponyo, Moïse Katumbi, Martin Fayulu and Delly Sesanga will be received this Friday, June 30, 2023 by the President of the CENI, Dénis Kadima to discuss and address issues relating to the ongoing electoral process. According to Kadima, these exchanges aim to explore realistic solutions for a more inclusive process.
“The members of the Independent National Electoral Commission are all driven by good faith and a high sense of ethics, which is why the CENI acts independently to ensure the conduct of transparent elections that are worthy of public opinion. This is how I announce the holding in the coming days of meetings with political leaders, particularly those of the opposition. This approach aims above all to explore together realistic solutions for a more inclusive process”, said Dénis Kadima on Sunday June 25 on the occasion of the convocation of the electorate for the national legislative elections.
The same Sunday, during a meeting in Ndjili, Martin Fayulu agreed to meet the CENI team. He had indicated that he would define “the rules of the game” before the holding of the elections scheduled for December 20 of this year.
“We’re going to get together, we’re going to him [Denis Kadima] say here are the rules of the game, if he accepts the rules, we will participate in the elections, otherwise we will never accept that, ”said Martin Fayulu. He had already said that he will not participate in the elections under the current conditions;
A section of civil society and political actors oppose the way the current CENI leadership team is conducting the ongoing electoral process. The four opposition leaders have multiplied actions against the government in recent days. They “unite their ideas and forces to carry out common actions in order to obtain the organization of the elections within the constitutional deadline”.
