Denver Luxury Market Soars: Penthouse Sale Tops $10 Million in October

October’s high-end real estate market in the denver metro area reached new heights, led by a Cherry Creek penthouse that sold for $350,000 over its list price. the property, located at Laurel Cherry Creek on Steele Street, closed on Oct. 8 for $10.1 million after a competitive bidding war, solidifying its position as the most expensive home sold in the region last month.

The 4,761-square-foot penthouse was previously owned by the estate of George A. Wiegers, a prominent venture capitalist and the founder and CEO of Wiegers Capital Partners, as well as former chairman of Hart Energy. Wiegers initially purchased the residence in June 2019 for $6.7 million, through the entity 155 Steele St LLC, and passed away on Nov.24,2024.

Completed in 2017, the three-bedroom, four-bathroom penthouse is part of a 71-unit condominium complex designed by Denver-based JNS Architecture + Interior Design. residents enjoy expansive terraces offering views to the west,north,and east. The unit boasts a chef’s kitchen equipped with professional-grade Wolf appliances, a walk-in pantry featuring a prep sink, and elegant waterfall stone countertops.

Josh Behr of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty represented the seller in the transaction, while Mckinze Casey, also with LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, represented the buyer, Hoops Trust, which is based in the San Francisco bay Area.

A sprawling estate in Cherry Hills Village, located on the 4700 block of S. Fillmore Court, sold for $8.2 million on Oct. 1. The 14,416-square-foot home, situated on 2.4 acres in the Cherry Hills Farm neighborhood, initially listed for $8,950,000. The buyers are Christopher and Heather Planishek, with Heather Planishek serving as the chief operating and financial officer for Tines and formerly holding the same position at Palantir Technologies Inc.

Littleton Estate inspired by Italian Farmhouses Sells for $7 Million

A 10,756-square-foot mansion in littleton,located on the 3700 block of N. Rampart Range Road, sold for $7 million on Oct.31. designed to emulate a 400-year-old Italian farmhouse, the seven-bedroom, 10-bath home sits on 8 acres bordering Roxborough State Park and Pike National Forest.

The property features a limestone exterior with copper gutters and incorporates reclaimed materials, including antique doors and wood beams from Denver’s historic Ice House. Bespoke ironwork, antique light fixtures, and custom cabinetry add to the home’s unique character. Sean and Elizabeth Durbin constructed the home in 2016 after purchasing the property in 2014. The buyers are Naul Hahn and Tanna Rae Manthe,with Naul Manthe founding Marrick,a company specializing in funding and managing medical care for uninsured or underinsured patients.

Guffey Ranch Offers Mountain Living for $6 Million

rounding out the top five sales is Mountain Star Ranch near Guffey, which sold for $6 million. The property encompasses over 800 acres and includes a 7,600-square-foot log home constructed from Montana pine,featuring five bedrooms and six baths. Accessed via a private, mile-long drive with electronic gates, the ranch offers equestrian facilities, multiple garages, and access to over 16,000 acres of Bureau of land Management land. It’s ideal for hunting elk and mule deer, with a pond fed by two creeks for grazing or fishing, and also a workshop and shooting range. Jim Vidamour with fay Ranches represented the seller.
