Deportivo Garcilaso suffered a tough defeat against Lanus at home and seriously complicated his classification chances in the CONMEBOL South American.

The Argentines showed great defensive solvency and quality in attack to win, with goals from Walter Bou and Marcelino Moreno, one in each half of the game.
The result obtained at almost 3,300 meters of Andean altitude at the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega stadium allowed Granate to add 10 points, while the Peruvians were left with 4 points and no options to continue in the competition.
Despite the home team’s dominance during the first half, it was Lanús that opened the scoring just 6 minutes into the game.
Walter Bou took advantage of a precise pass from Marcelino Moreno to overcome the exit of goalkeeper Diego Penny and leave the fans of the Cuzco team in silence.
After a few minutes of confusion, the Peruvians regained momentum and based on speed they besieged the Lanús defense, which had a superlative figure in goalkeeper Alan Aguerre to prevent parity from being achieved.
At 23, the goalkeeper deflected a header from Carlos Beltran and five minutes later he successfully stopped another shot from Luis Urruti that had previously deflected off José Canale.
Aguerre showed his reflexes again in the 32nd minute to take a free kick from Alexi Gomez and in the 43rd minute he showed off another superb change of hand action to prevent a shot from Jorge Bazán from entering his goal.
Garcilaso did not return to the field of play with the same impetus with which he closed the first half and, after losing several balls in the middle, he suffered a second goal when 54 minutes were played.
Moreno sealed his great performance of the day by fighting for a ball from the left, overpowering Beltrán and leaving Gómez in the way to launch a cross shot at mid-height that left Penny with no option.
The second score ended up disconcerting the Cuzqueños, who looked erratic in the following minutes, while Lanús settled on the field and controlled their rivals’ attempts with solvency, and even Aguerre avoided Garcilaso’s discount in the 93rd minute after a shot by Andrés Chicaiza.
