mDivya Unni is the favorite actress of Laiyalis. A face that Malayalis always carry in their minds like a love for the child of the neighboring house. Divya has managed to win a place in the hearts of her fans with films like Pranayavarnaman, Kalyana Saugandhikam, Friends, Varnapakit and Akashganga. Now settled in America, Divya opens up about her dance school and life after becoming a mother of three children.

Kochi to America..Has Divya changed a lot?

The truth is, I haven’t allowed myself to change much. I didn’t even want to change my dressing style. Mostly Indian clothes are worn. Saree or Churidar will be worn. I miss my mother’s food and Vinayaka Palada. There will always be a connection with the country because it is associated with dance. I brought the rule that churidar is allowed in dance school. So if I break the law myself… there are temples there. Most of the time I am somewhere in Ambala area..

A mother’s role…relationships?

Children are not forced to do anything. Do not compare them with others. Only that they will be taken according to their tastes. Meenakshi is interested in dance. So teaching. I like doing their stuff and I enjoy it. Sometimes I will travel with my children.

When something good or bad happens in my life, there are certain faces that first come to mind. Mother, father, Arun, Vidya, children… Relationships are beautiful when they are not a liability. Relationships should not be a chore or a burden to us. I don’t have those kind of relationships.

How would the actress/dancer like to be known?

Acting and dancing are the same. She has been learning dance since the age of three. He used to go to the dance program even when he was in the movies. Now a full-time dancer. He reached Kunjunnale cinema. The joy is that people have been able to play good characters that are heartwarming

Don’t want to come back to the big screen?

The acceptance of the characters I have done over the years has been immense. I want to do more such good characters. I don’t consciously stay away from it. It is desired that the comeback should be through a memorable character. I am listening to the script. If you get characters that strike your mind, you will definitely do it. Also interested in doing dance based films. Movies like ‘Manichitrathaar’ remain in our hearts even today. The actor stopped saying with the good hope of seeing him again on the silver screen.
