According to the railway website, there are failures on the route between Berlin and Cologne. However, there are no problems reported with the connections between Berlin and Munich. This also applies, for example, to the routes Frankfurt – Munich and Hamburg – Cologne.

The strike by the German Locomotive Drivers Union ended early this morning. The strike was originally supposed to last until the evening. On Saturday night, the union and the railway agreed on new negotiations on collective agreements and, within this framework, on an early termination of the strike. The GDL does not want to strike again until March 3rd. The collective bargaining parties want to negotiate new collective agreements from February 5th. Both sides are aiming for an agreement by the beginning of March.

Federal Transport Minister Wissing welcomed the resumption of collective bargaining. The FDP politician explained that he was calling on both collective bargaining parties to work responsibly on a solution. The strikes of the last few days have been an enormous burden for rail passengers and companies in Germany.
