New Delhi: Now you will soon have to pay lower fares for air travel without check in baggage. Till now, airlines in foreign countries are providing such arrangements to the people. In which less fare is charged from the passengers if there is no check-in baggage. Currently in India, airlines provide this facility as per their discount. But now soon passengers in all airlines in India will start getting this facility. According to the information received from the Director General of Civil Aviation of the Central Government, now changes have been made in the Air Transport Circular. As per the latest decision of DGCA, services and fees of scheduled airlines have also been unbundled. This means that no airline will necessarily be able to charge passengers for meals, snacks, drinks etc. According to the new rules, airlines can sell all these facilities separately. But it is up to you to avail these facilities. Suppose you are carrying less luggage then you can buy a cheaper ticket. If you want to carry more luggage then you can choose the facility of carrying more luggage by paying a little more. That means, if you are traveling with a full service carrier like Vistara and Air India, you can choose not to pay meal or snack charges if you wish. Budget airlines like IndiGo and SpiceJet already have such a system.
