Dhoni next to Hardi; Former Indian cricketer with statement
Hardik Pandya led the Gujarat Titans in the IPL. Despite being the captain of a team for the first time, the player led Gujarat to the title without any pressure from it.
It is common in cricket for any captain to be compared to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, no matter how good he is. That is the impact of Dhoni’s captaincy.
This time it was Hardik who got the luck. Former Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar has likened Hardik to Dhoni.
Gavaskar says Dhoni should be given a lot of credit for his performance under Hardik’s captaincy.
“Looking at Hardik’s captaincy, it seems that he has a lot in common with Dhoni and he has learned a lot from Dhoni,” Gavaskar said.
Hardik sees Dhoni as his own brother and hero. His skills in man management are similar to those of Dhoni. Emotions on the field will be suppressed and players will try to understand their mistakes in the dressing room. Gavaskar added.
Because of this approach, every player will want to do something special for the captain. Hardy excelled in bowling changes and field placements. Gavaskar said his victory as captain made the Indian team happy.
Hardy has scored 453 runs and taken eight wickets in 15 matches in this IPL. In the final against Rajasthan, Hardy also dropped Jose Butler, Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmeyer. He was also the man of the match in the final and captained Gujarat.
Hardik played for Mumbai Indians in previous seasons. He made his IPL debut in 2015 and has won four trophies with Mumbai. This is the player’s fifth title for Gujarat.
