## Leonardo DiCaprio Stung by Jellyfish While on Vacation in Italy
Jellyfish Frequently Appear in Our Country Too
It was reported that renowned Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio (49) was stung by a jellyfish while swimming with his girlfriend in Italy. He received emergency treatment.
According to the American entertainment media ‘People’ on the 5th (local time), DiCaprio was attacked by a jellyfish while on vacation with his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti (26) on a luxury yacht in Italy.
DiCaprio was swimming on his yacht when he was stung by a jellyfish and called for help. Ceretti and the yacht’s crew noticed a red mark on the back of his right thigh and administered first aid.
While a jellyfish sting usually only causes a stinging sensation, more severe symptoms can arise if the venom affects the central nervous system, including fever, chills, muscle paralysis, seizures, and difficulty breathing. In such cases, immediate medical attention is required by calling 119.
Jellyfish have become increasingly prevalent in Korea recently, with 856 cases reported this year, a staggering 143-fold increase from last year.
If you are stung by a jellyfish, get out of the water immediately. Dead jellyfish still contain venom, so avoid physical contact.
Any remaining tentacles should be carefully removed using a card or similar tool, and disinfected with seawater or saline solution. Avoid using tap water or bottled water, as this can worsen the situation.
DiCaprio’s girlfriend, Ceretti, is a well-known model who has graced the runways for renowned designers such as Alexander McQueen, Versace, Miu Miu, Balenciaga, and Gucci.
DiCaprio has a history of dating women under the age of 25, with 24 and 25 being considered his “Maginot Line.” His current girlfriend is 26, sparking discussions online.
