Died after collapsing while playing badminton; Fourth incident in two weeks in Telangana

Hyderabad: A young man collapsed and died while playing badminton. Shyam Yadav (38), a native of Malkagiri, died. The incident took place at the Professor Jayashankar Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad at 7.30 pm on Tuesday. The CCTV camera installed in the stadium captured the footage of the incident.

In the video, Yadav collapses on the badminton court and bystanders try to wake him up. Some claim that if CPR had been administered, he would have survived.

The preliminary conclusion is that the cause of death was heart attack. Yadav’s brother said that he was proficient in sports like badminton and cricket and used to play after work.

This is the fourth such incident in Telangana. A 19-year-old boy collapsed and died while dancing at a wedding reception in Telangana’s Pardi village the other day. A 24-year-old police officer collapsed in a gym in Hyderabad on February 22 and another died while participating in Haldi celebrations in Hyderabad on February 20. He bent down to rub turmeric on the groom’s feet and suddenly fell to the floor.

The worker collapsed while boarding the bus in Hyderabad itself. But the policeman who was in the traffic immediately gave him artificial respiration and saved his life.
