Czech entrepreneurs will import the format. The mayor: it will be the largest park in Europe

Irpinia from the land of wolves to the land of dinosaurs. Word of Gianluca Festa (namesake), mayor of Avellino, biologist, former basketball player who has made a political vision of play as the engine of the economy. Its slogan enjoy city. And just at this moment when there is very little to laugh about, the mayor with great enthusiasm and the enthusiasm of the ex-child hatching inside announced that the international company DinoPark has chosen Avellino to open a large park, probably the largest of Italy if not of Europe with a Jurassic theme. Some friends from Avellino introduced me to these entrepreneurs from the Czech Republic who, while visiting the city, discovered the potential of its southern area and indicated it as perfect for giving birth to one of their spectacular realities.
The brand
Under the DinoPark brand there are at least nine amusement parks which in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain and Russia guarantee one million visitors a year. Children drag their parents (or vice versa) to admire the static and moving models of the Prehistoric Rulers of our Globe, all life-size. DinoPark’s motto provide joy, knowledge, fun and unforgettable experiences that somewhat extend theenjoy city of Festa. In fact, we immediately understood – continues the mayor with a broad smile – I liked the idea, they liked my enthusiastic welcome. For now there is an expression of interest, but the process to authorize the creation of the structure will start shortly. I trust them because they are serious entrepreneurs. We complain so much that there are no private investors in the South and now that such big ones are appearing, we cannot help but rejoice.
The park
Yet enjoy. Yes, it goes beyond the goliardic: as administrator I am very happy to be in this project and to offer, in addition to ordinary services to my community, a new great attraction. And then I am passionate: I have visited Mirabilandia, Disneyland, Gardaland and others and I am aware of how much they are loved: they are a certainty and can create an employment sector. We are talking about one hundred thousand square meters all dedicated to dinosaurs. Municipal land? Will they pay a rent? Private land, the Municipality proudly promotes the project but at no cost. The idea, the identity of Avellino has always been referred to these semantic areas: a political-intellectual laboratory, a city of southerners starting with Guido Dorso, the capital of 119 villages that are excellent for wines, gastronomy, landscape, peasant civilization and land of the bone. . Now it becomes a dinosaur bone. A surprising fantasy identity. Of course: everything that was not done after the earthquake, the missed rebirth, we are starting now with the ambition to offer a strong idea to be recognized in the world.
Tourism
Naples Naples, Salerno has the sea and the Amalfi Coast, Caserta the Royal Palace, Benevento the Roman theater, Avellino will have Dinosaurs? what I meant and then we want to start behaving as a capital again. The park will be a little bait for tourists who will discover the other offers of the area: Avellino could create a flow towards countries full of culture and doc products. Irpinia also has a pretty good cultural tradition from Francesco De Sanctis to Sabino Cassese: that’s why I called Fuksas to relaunch the Dogana dei Grani. Which is already signed by Fanzago, not really a dinosaur. I didn’t want a restoration, but a contemporary reinterpretation. Without an endogenous economy, everything can become a new engine.
