Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced last week that Germany would supply Marder infantry fighting vehicles and a Patriot air defense system to Ukraine. Pressure mounts for him to go further and accept a delivery of Leopard tanks. Yesterday the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said that in his view it was only a matter of time before Germany agreed to send tanks. “First they say no, then they fiercely defend their decision, only to finally say yes in the end,” he added.
