The director of the cybersecurity department of the Ministry of Digital Development, Vladimir Bengin, resigns of his own free will. About it writes Kommersant with reference to sources in the IT market. The information was also confirmed by Bengin himself.

He did not specify his new place of work. Bengin has led the cybersecurity department since June 2021.

Before the Ministry of Digital Development, he worked at Positive Technologies, where since 2019 he worked as director of product development. Over the years, Bengin also held positions from leading consultant to director of the company’s sales support department.

From 2013 to 2014 worked at ZAO Praktika Bezopasnosti as deputy head of department. Before that, he worked for three years at Kabest LLC, where he designed and implemented complex information security systems.

At the Ministry of Digital Development, Bengin worked in the area of ​​cybersecurity, including the fight against telephone fraud and the protection of government information systems. In particular, during his work, the department launched a bug bounty program (search for vulnerabilities by “white hat hackers” in information systems for a fee). The first stage took place from February to May 2023. A total of 37 vulnerabilities were identified. November 10 Ministry of Digital Development launched the second stage of the program, which will last a year.

Also in December 2022, the Antifraud system was launched in Russia, which blocks fraudulent calls from spoofed numbers. It is expected to be fully operational in 2024.
