In recent days, numerous messages have circulated on social networks that ensure that the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned of the appearance of a new pathology – ‘disease X’ – whose mortality would be up to 20 times higher than covid-19.

The dissemination of these publications has arisen as a result of the Davos Forum -which holds its annual meeting between January 15 and 19- announced a conference for this Wednesday on this supposed ‘disease

In this sense, multiple profiles have interpreted that this panel is the preview for the launch of a new global pandemic by the “global elites.”

«The disease warning, 20 times more lethal than covid-19, should raise the red flags for what the globalists are cooking at the WEF (acronym for the World Economic Forum in English)»warns a widely disseminated message on X (formerly Twitter).

The facts of disease

The truth is that, as confirmed EFE Verifies‘disease hypothetical pathogen that could cause a serious global epidemicbut it does not refer to a real disease and that it existsas explained by the WHO, which included this concept in the list of priority pathogens to prepare for possible future threats.

In 2017, the WHO introduced the term ‘disease on its list of priority diseases for research – along with other pathologies such as Ebola or Zika – to indicate the possibility that “a serious international epidemic could be caused by a currently unknown pathogen”.

In any case, the organization precise on their website that this list “not exhaustive” and indica “the most likely causes of the next pandemic”but focuses on diseases for which there are not enough vaccines or medications.

WHO: There is no disease X, it is a concept

In a message on social networksthe WHO explained that «there is no disease X» and that it is a concept to prevent pharmacovigilance and health systems from an unknown pathogen.

Likewise, he explained that the objective was to be prepared in research terms to achieve drugs and vaccines that could respond to that threat.

Epidemiologists: no real threat

For his part, Federico Arribas, member of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology, emphasizes that this term does not pose any real threat, but simply refers to a hypothetical new disease to which the population would not have any type of immunity, which would be likely to cause high transmission and mortality.

In this sense, Arribas explains that these forecasts serve to establish possible preventive and containment measuresas well as to implement new technologies, which at the time helped accelerate the development of the vaccine against covid-19.

“The laboratories had already been working on lines of work that in some way helped us to have the vaccine at that time”he adds.

In short, ‘disease X’ is not a real pathology, but rather a concept for pharmacovigilance and health systems to prepare for future epidemiological threats.
