Title: DMD Not in Alliance with Anyone, Says Treasurer Premalatha Vijayakanth

Chennai, July 24: The treasurer of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) party, Premalatha Vijayakanth, confirmed today that the party is not currently in alliance with any other political party.

The DMDK district secretaries held a meeting at the party’s head office in Chennai – Coimbatore on July 24. After the meeting, Premalatha Vijayakanth addressed the media, stating that DMDK leader Vijayakanth is in high spirits and is closely watching the ongoing political scenario.

The internal party elections within the DMDK have been successfully completed. In the coming days, the party plans to organize public meetings, protests, and demonstrations at the district level. Furthermore, a conference will also be held where Vijayakanth will announce the party’s decision on forming alliances for the upcoming elections.

However, Premalatha Vijayakanth made it clear that currently, the DMDK is not aligned with any other political party. She noted that the party was not invited to the recent National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting in Delhi due to this reason.

Regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the DMDK plans to make its position known at the appropriate time. Premalatha Vijayakanth questioned the contribution of MPs from the ruling AIADMK and opposition DMK parties towards Tamil Nadu’s progress. She criticized them for merely traveling to Delhi as representatives without adequately addressing the state’s needs.

The treasurer stressed the importance of a government that fulfills its promises to the people, stating that the opposition alliance, despite its name change, has not resulted in any significant improvements for the public. She also highlighted the internal contradictions among the leaders of the “India” alliance.

As the political landscape in Tamil Nadu continues to evolve, the DMDK’s decision on alliances for the upcoming elections is eagerly anticipated by the public and other political parties. For now, the party remains focused on mobilizing its support base and aims to play a crucial role in shaping the future of the state.
