You will not be able to prevent someone from taking a screenshot or even know if someone has taken a screenshot on WhatsApp. You can control who can access your information, such as your status and profile picture. Tap the three vertical dots icon in the upper right corner, go to Settings > Account > Privacy and adjust file settings Profile Picture, About, Status. You should also be careful about who you send hidden messages to. The message or photo may be gone, but nothing is stopping the person from taking a screenshot or recording the screen.
