Dohuk hosts the Northern Governorates Clubs Championship in Kickboxing

The Kickboxing Federation is holding the Iraqi Clubs Championship for the Northern Governorates on the 18th of this month in Dohuk Governorate. It is expected that its matches will witness strong competition between the participants, in search of reaching the advanced stages and ascending the podium.

The head of the game’s federation, Qasim Al-Wasiti, said in an interview with Al-Sabah newspaper, followed by the (INA), today, Wednesday, that “his federation decided to organize the Iraqi Clubs Championship for the northern governorates, during the period from July 18 to 20 in Dohuk, adding that the competition is a preparatory station and an ideal opportunity for players to compete for colored medals and first places, in preparation for choosing the best elements to represent the national team in the upcoming external events.”

Al-Wasiti pointed out that “his union had previously held an international training course a few days ago in Sulaymaniyah Governorate for the period from June 23 to 28, with the participation of more than 50 local trainers, and four experts from Croatia, Italy, Poland and Sweden lectured in it, indicating that holding it comes within the framework of raising the level of training staff.”

Regarding external participation, Al-Wasiti explained, “Our national teams, with all their names, are about to participate in important Arab and continental competitions, and they are currently in the preparation phase in order to reach the required technical and physical readiness, and they are hopeful of achieving positive results that will enhance the game’s status and reputation internationally.”
