Claudio de Sanctis, Deutsche Bank’s new private customer board member who took office on July 1, has filled the last open position in his 19-strong management circle. Dominik Hennen is the new “Head of Personal Banking” for the domestic mass business, which has been shaken by IT problems at Postbank in recent months. The 42-year-old was once a professional basketball player for the Frankfurt Skyliners and became German champions with this team in 2004.

Hennen began his professional career in 2007 as a management consultant for banks and insurance companies at McKinsey. In 2014 he moved to the insurance group Talanx, where since 2021 he has been on the board of HDI “responsible for business strategy and cost management as well as the digital and agile transformation of the German private customer business,” as Deutsche Bank announced. Hennen will start at Deutsche Bank in October.

Hennen reports to Lars Stoy, who holds a prominent position in the de Sanctis management team as head of wealth management, which has been expanded to include private banking. The 19-person management team at de Sanctis, which, with the exception of Hennen, was announced in full on July 12th, only includes two women: Sandra Wirfs and Gülabatin Sun.

In addition, Lars Stoy has now appointed the managers for his area. The former head of sales for private customers, Philipp Gossow, who is reportedly in talks about moving to another division of Deutsche Bank, is no longer included. Since the Central region is absorbed into the four other regions in private banking, a new job is being sought for its head Ulrike Krieger.

As stated in an internal communication from Stoy, which is available to the FAZ, Stoy’s deputy in wealth management will be Frank Schriever. Leo Müller also takes on an interesting task at this second management level in the private customer business. He will lead a new team that will advance customer advice via video and telephone.
