Actress Malavika Mohanan elaborated on the word ‘Lady Superstar’ in a recent paramarsh. In a recent interview to an online channel, Malavika said that actresses should be called ‘super stars’ instead of ‘lady superstars’. “I don’t like the term ‘lady superstar.’ There should be a situation where the heroines are called superstars like the heroes..why say lady superstar..there is no need for lady’. Malavika also asked why Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif are not called lady superstars.

But Malavika had to face huge criticism against this. Fans also came forward alleging that Malavika meant Nayanthara. Then Malavika came with an explanation in this regard.

‘His opinion was not about any particular star. It’s just about the term used to describe female actors. I respect and adore Nayanthara. As a senior, I am in awe of their incredible journey. Please come together…’ Malavika tweeted.

Some time ago, Malavika criticized the senior heroine for wearing make-up in the hospital scene. Malavika praised Nayanthara’s performance in the film ‘Raja Rani’. Nayanthara also came with an answer to that. In a recent interview with a Tamil channel, Nayanthara responded to Malavika’s criticism.

Meanwhile, Malavika Mohanan’s Christie will hit the theaters on February 17. Young actor Mathew plays the lead role in the film.
