Dorit And PK Kemsley Ordered Into Mediation Over Child Custody

Dorit Kemsley and Paul “PK” Kemsley reached a partial financial settlement during a high-stakes Los Angeles courtroom appearance, but deep divisions remain over child custody. While financial terms were resolved through counsel, a presiding judge ordered the reality television stars into mandatory virtual mediation to finalize parenting plans for their two children.

The Los Angeles County Superior Court proceedings brought the bitter split of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars to a head as lawyers worked behind closed doors. Specific figures and asset divisions from the financial agreement were not made public, leaving the broader public focus locked onto their contested parental arrangements.

The emotional stakes were visible before proceedings even began. Paul “PK” Kemsley arrived ahead of his estranged wife and confessed to his legal team that he felt nervous. Dorit Kemsley arrived shortly after, escorted by her attorneys, creating an immediately palpable wave of friction between the estranged couple.

Following arguments from both legal camps, presiding Judge George Bird retreated to his chambers for nearly an hour with counsel. Upon returning, the judge delivered a blunt assessment of the stalled proceedings.

I feel like every time we call this case, we’re getting further and further away.

Judge Bird explicitly instructed both parents to prioritize their children over personal differences. He directed them to meet with a separate judge in an alternate department to negotiate custodial disputes before returning later that afternoon. En route to the second department, Dorit told her legal team that she needed a cigarette break, though her counsel insisted on officially checking in with the second judge first.

Witness Lists and Custody Deadlocks Over Jagger and Phoenix

The core roadblock delaying a final divorce decree centers on parenting arrangements for their two minor children, son Jagger, 12, and daughter Phoenix, 10. Custodial issues remain so contentious that the court took formal scheduling action to break the deadlock, ordering the estranged spouses to attend a virtual mediation session on Dec. 2 exclusively dedicated to finalizing their parental custody agreement.

The legal dispute has also expanded to include household staff. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, PK outlined several witnesses for the ongoing proceedings, indicating plans to call Dorit, himself, and the reality star’s personal assistant to testify about her interactions with the children. PK also intends to call the children’s longtime nanny to discuss observations of Dorit’s parenting dynamics.

Ahead of the court appearance, PK filed a declaration accusing Dorit of icing him out of important decisions regarding their son’s schooling. He claimed he learned about his current school through the children rather than Dorit, calling her lack of communication shocking and disheartening and arguing that she exhibits a complete and intentional lack of communication and collaboration on major choices.

Financial Disagreements and Competing Support Claims

The financial feud between the exes has involved competing claims over spending and household expenses. PK accused Dorit of spending lavishly on luxury clothing and travel while ignoring essential bills, including their mortgage. Dorit countered that PK had previously paid those bills before abruptly stopping payments, an allegation he denied.

Financial disclosures in the case revealed starkly different figures regarding their earnings. PK’s accountant suggested Dorit should pay him $581 per month in child support, noting he brought in $107,943 each month, while attorney Ronald Richards revealed Dorit was making around $166,000 monthly. Dorit separately requested that PK pay her $40,000 per month in support.

The timeline of their separation spans years of public life. After marrying on March 7, 2015, in New York City, the couple announced their separation on May 9, 2024, followed by Dorit filing for divorce in April 2025. Both parties are scheduled to appear back in court on Nov. 24 to continue their comprehensive settlement negotiations.
