Erode East Constituency by-elections will be held on February 27. The Edappadi Palaniswami-led team is fielding a candidate while the ADMK is functioning as two teams in this election.
Similarly, another team led by O. Panneer Selvam has announced to contest the election.
In this regard, both the parties are meeting the alliance party leaders and seeking their support.
There is an expectation that which team will get the double leaf symbol.
In this situation ADMK The appeal filed by O. Panneerselvam regarding the general assembly has been heard in the Supreme Court and the verdict has not come.
As a result of this, there has been a problem in getting the double leaf symbol, the lawyers of Edappadi Palaniswami filed an interlocutory petition in the Supreme Court yesterday, seeking an order from the Election Commission to allocate a double leaf symbol to their team.

It has been said that the Election Commission should be ordered to accept the nomination petition signed by Edappadi Palaniswami, who has been elected as the Interim General Secretary, and the resolutions of the General Assembly and should include the Election Commission as a counter-petitioner.
The judges who registered this interlocutory petition to the Election Commission to respond within 3 days regarding the petition, O. Panneerselvam’s side has also been ordered to adjourn the trial to February 3.
Regarding this, the spokesperson of O. Panneer Selvam team said:-
What is the reason why Edappadi Palaniswami’s team appealed to the Supreme Court asking for a double leaf symbol, it has come to know that they will not get a double leaf symbol.
So A.D.M.K. We as coordinators are supposed to have the double leaf symbol at our disposal.
We have not yet received the notice regarding the interlocutory petition in the Supreme Court. A reply will be sent.
For this our senior advocates Guru Krishnakumar and Ranjith Kumar will consult with O. Panneer Selvam and take a decision.
