Douglas County officials announced today the launch of DougCoAlert, a free service designed to keep residents informed of potentially hazardous situations, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office stated.
DougCoAlert will deliver notifications regarding natural disasters – including wildfires, floods, and severe storms – as well as evacuation and shelter-in-place orders, law enforcement activity, and other public safety emergencies.
the switch to DougCoAlert allows for alerts to be received via phone, text, and email, and enables residents to respond to poll questions that will provide Douglas county officials with critical information during emergency events.
Individuals who were previously enrolled in CodeRed will not be automatically transferred to DougCoAlert and are encouraged to sign up for the new system to ensure continued access to emergency notifications.
Residents and visitors to Douglas County who did not previously use CodeRed are also encouraged to register for DougCoAlert at DougCoAlert.com to receive timely and actionable alerts via email, text, or voice message. Users can also customize how and when they receive communications before, during, and after emergencies.
DougCoAlert serves all residents, workers, and visitors within Douglas County, Colorado, and all cities located within the county, including Castle Rock, Parker, Lone Tree, Highlands Ranch, Castle Pines, Franktown, Sedalia, and Larkspur.
