- Dr. Mathai completed his residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and is board-eligible.
- he holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Dr. mathai’s practice encompasses well-child visits, newborn care, vaccinations, and management of common childhood illnesses.
Dr. Mathai believes that pediatric care is about more than just treating illness. It’s about prevention, education, and fostering a strong, trusting relationship with families. “I hope to provide compassionate, thoughtful, and accessible care while creating a welcoming environment where families feel heard and supported,” he said.
Dr. Mathai’s clinical expertise covers a wide range of pediatric needs, from routine well-childcare visits and vaccinations to managing common childhood illnesses such as asthma, allergies, eczema, infections, and minor injuries. He also addresses anxiety and school-related issues,offering a holistic approach to pediatric health.
Born and raised in Queens, Dr. Mathai’s return to Howard Beach is more than just a career move-it’s a homecoming. He expressed a deep sense of pride in serving the close-knit, family-oriented community where he grew up. “I’ve always loved the diversity,energy,and incredible food that make this area so special,and I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community,” he stated.
Beyond his medical accomplishments, Dr. Mathai is a Gold Humanism Award recipient, a testament to his compassionate and patient-centered approach. He’s also a dedicated New York Knicks fan-believing,as many do,that this year might finally be their year-and an avid anime enthusiast.When he’s not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his two young children, who he says keep him “laughing-and humbled-daily.”
