As I recall, just last week there was a big drama reported on an El Al flight from Tel Aviv to Sofia, this after a plane had to retrace its steps just before it reached its destination in the capital of Bulgaria. According to the report in “Israel Today”, in a conversation with El Al they explained that the company’s plane, which had almost arrived in Sofia, ran into an area with strong winds, and the pilots realized that they would have difficulty landing in such weather, so they decided to return the plane back to Israel.
