Dubai: Dubai tops the TripAdvisor Travelers Choice Awards for the second consecutive year. The winners were chosen by millions of travelers from around the world.
The award was determined based on independent destination reviews and ratings from travelers for the 12-month period from November 1, 2021 to October 31, 2022.
The TripAdvisor award is the latest in a series of international recognitions for Dubai’s appeal as a multifaceted destination. Dubai welcomed more than 1.28 crore international overnight visitors from January to November 2022, according to the latest figures published by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism. During the same period in 2021, the number of these visitors was 60 lakh.
“Dubai being named the number one global destination for the second year in a row reflects the important work undertaken by the city’s many stakeholders, strong public and private institutions. The partnership model and Dubai’s network of global partners are aligned with the guiding vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai,” said Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department.
“Diverse tourism attractions and hospitality offerings, emerging as a major venue for global events and attraction for talent and enterprise will continue to strengthen Dubai’s status as a favorite among global travelers over the next decade.” Dubai’s tourism, hospitality and events sectors have been at the forefront of the rebound and acceleration of global growth in these sectors over the past two years. It will play a key role in shaping their future evolution,” said Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.
