Dyson launches air filters in Israel with sensing technology to filter out dangerous pollutants

Dyson Introduces Next Generation of Its Air Filters: Formaldehyde Dyson Pure Cool and- Dyson Pure Cool Hot +cool Formaldehyde With new formaldehyde sensing technology, designed to capture ultra-fine dust, allergens, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) including formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is a colorless gas pollutant that evaporates from furniture and wood products that contain formaldehyde-based resins like plywood, insulation materials and products such as paint, wallpaper and household cleaning products. Due to its volume being 500 times smaller than 0.1 micron particles, it is difficult to detect and capture, which can lead to prolonged exposure to hazardous chemicals carried in the air. Dyson’s new formaldehyde sensor works alongside Dyson’s unique algorithm for accurate monitoring of formaldehyde levels – while integrating to detect other gases detected by a dedicated VOC sensor. The filters are already available for purchase at the following prices:

  • דגם Dyson Pure Cool Formaldehyde TP09 Air filter and fan. Recommended retail price: NIS 2,999.
  • דגם Dyson Pure Cool Hot +cool Formaldehyde HP09 Air filter, fan and heater. Recommended retail price: NIS 3,360.

Two years warranty and service at the customer’s home by BNZK Trade, the official importer of Dyson products in Israel.

In addition to the new sensor, Dyson engineers also rebuilt the airflow trajectories of the filter. HEPA 13 filtration level is completely sealed – this is not only to ensure that air does not bypass the filter, but also to block any potential leakage points through which polluted air may enter the filtration path. This means that Dyson’s new filters capture 99.95% of the particles up to a size of 0.1 microns. Also, the new filter is 20% quieter and reduces unwanted noise in the house.

The “indoors” generation

Every day, humans breathe up to 9,000 gallons of air, during which time they spend up to 90% of their time indoors. As homes become more and more spaces where we spend most of our time, there are a number of sources of pollution, releasing pollutants like PM10, PM2.5, VOCs, NO2 and formaldehyde into the air. Sources of pollution are present in all aspects of daily life, whether they are pollutants emitted during cooking, or those released from cleaning products or continuous gas emission of formaldehyde from furniture in the living room. Dyson’s new formaldehyde filter series reflects the latest technology in three core areas: sensing, filtering and acoustics.

Sensing and filtering Precise formaldehyde

The combination of a smart formaldehyde sensor in the air filter, ensures accurate sensing of the pollutant throughout the life of the filter. Using an electrochemical cell, Dyson’s formaldehyde sensor does not dry out and its unique smart algorithm crosses data every second, while selectively sensing pollutants.

Dyson Purifier Cool: Acoustically engineered to be at 20% quieter

Dyson engineers have also invested in product development from the aspect of reducing filter sound output while maintaining filtering performance. Through a design, testing and construction process conducted in the internal acoustics booth of the Dyson Malaysia Development Center, the filter was designed to be 20% quieter. To reduce noise, Dyson engineers changed the overall airflow path by expanding the aperture (the slot in which the air exits the filter) and improving its geometry. The result is reduced friction between the air and the filter surface and less noise. The noise was reduced from 64 to 61 decibels at maximum fan speed.

Technology Air Multiplier

Using Air Multiplier technology, the filter can release purified air to any corner of the room. Automatic mode allows the filter to maintain a preferred room temperature and air quality. Also, the filter can be fully controlled by an app. Dyson Link
