EAEU intends to intensify negotiations with India on concluding an agreement on the establishment of a free trade zone, Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said during a meeting with Russian and Indian business circles.
“We attach particular importance to the issue of mutual access of goods to the markets of our countries. We expect to activate negotiations with the Eurasian Economic Commission on a free trade agreement with India,” he said.
In addition, according to Manturov, the signing of the Russian-Indian agreement on the promotion of investments and their mutual protection is also underway.
It should be noted that India and EAEU completed preliminary expert consultations on the formation of a free trade zone in December 2021, agreeing to start negotiations on an agreement on the establishment of a free trade zone in early 2022.
