Mortal Kombat 1, the highly anticipated fighting game, is just a little over two weeks away from its official release. However, eager fans who are willing to spend a bit more on the game will get the opportunity to play it even earlier.

The exact start date and time for the early access period have been announced for those who pre-order the Premium or Kollector’s Editions of Mortal Kombat 1. While it was previously known that early access would begin five days before the game’s release, online retailers have now provided specific times for this exclusive period.

Players with the Premium or Kollector’s Editions will be able to enjoy the game starting at 10 a.m. PDT / 12 p.m. CDT / 1 p.m. EDT on Thursday, September 14. This early access benefit extends to the Nintendo Switch version of the game as well.

In addition to early access, the recent Steam store update has revealed that PC players will have the opportunity for cross-platform play, a first in the Mortal Kombat series. It is speculated that this feature will be available at launch, further enhancing the gaming experience for PC players.

The Premium Edition of Mortal Kombat 1, priced at $110 USD, offers several exclusive benefits. These include the game itself, Kombat Pack 1, one week early access to new characters, and 1,250 Dragon Krystals, the in-game currency. The Kollector’s Edition, priced at $250, includes all the contents of the Premium Edition along with additional perks such as a 16.5″ tall Liu Kang statue, an exclusive Liu Kang costume color, a steelbook case, and 2,700 Dragon Krystals.

The recent store updates have shed light on the purpose of Dragon Krystals. They can be used to purchase cosmetic items such as skins, colors, gear, and potentially taunts and Brutalities. This provides players with the opportunity to customize their characters according to their preferences.

Furthermore, the Kombat Pack 1 for Mortal Kombat 1 will introduce several playable characters, including Ermac, Quan Chi, Takeda, Invincible’s Omni-Man, The Boys’ Homelander, and DC’s Peacemaker. Additionally, there will be 5 new Kameo Fighters and the Jean-Claude Van Damme Skin for Johnny Cage. Shang Tsung will also be available as an additional roster member for all pre-order customers.

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to be released on September 19 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms. As the release date approaches, fans can expect more updates and coverage on the highly anticipated game.
