/ Japan’s national team coach Hajime Moriyasu confirmed on Friday his readiness to face his Iranian counterpart Amir Ghalei Noei in a match that is considered an “early final” for the Asian Football Cup, while the Iranian national team coach described his match with the “Samurai” as “difficult.”
The Japanese team will meet its Iranian counterpart tomorrow, Saturday, in the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup at the Education City Stadium in Qatar.
“We have players who are capable of replacing those who left, and Junya Ito’s departure does not affect us,” the Japanese coach said during the press conference before facing Iran.
He added, “The match will be a crowd-pleaser between the two best teams in Asia, and the encounter will be strong,” noting that his players “are confident in their ability on the field.”
The Iranian coach said during the conference, “This match should have been the final.”
He pointed out that “the match will be difficult and the Japanese team is excellent,” indicating that all his players “were physically excellent in the match against Syria.”
