The Election Commission (EC) will respond after seeing the detailed report given by the European Union (EU) on the recently held 12th National Parliament election.

EC Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath informed this information.

The EU has already published a report on the observation of the parliamentary elections of January 7. They also gave the 31-page report to the Election Commission. It has been opined that the voters had no chance to choose candidates in the twelfth parliamentary elections without BNP. Questions have also been raised about the appointment process of the EC. Apart from this, the organization has made a series of recommendations citing various inconsistencies in the law.

When asked about this, EC Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath said that the European Union has given a report. India has also given a report. New South Wales gave a report. The commission will read the details after meeting with all the reports and give feedback.

In response to another question, he said that there is no opportunity to take into account any complaints before the announcement of the upazila election schedule. The detailed schedule will be announced in the next two weeks. When will be given the time of submission, selection, withdrawal of nomination papers. Only then will it be decided how many upazilas will be voted on by the electronic voting machine. Not having a party symbol is not related to the commission.

Regarding the cost of foreign observers, the EC official said, We will bear the cost of the foreign observers whom we have invited. Not only the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but also the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Information. Commission will pay the expenses of those invited by the EC. If anyone invites outside of this they will bear the cost.
