Annatha is a Sun Pictures production directed by Siva and starring Rajini. The film is scheduled to release for Deepavali 2020 and has been delayed by one year for Deepavali 2021 due to Corona. Sun Pictures lost a few crores in this category.
The film was released on November 2 ahead of Diwali. The theaters reopened several months later and no films by actors like Vijay and Ajith were released and people went to the theater to see the film as it was a 4 day holiday following Deepavali. So, for the first 4 days the film got good collections. However, due to negative reviews and rain, the film’s collection was severely affected.
In particular, due to heavy rains in Chennai, which receives high collections, not many people go to the theater. Screenings will be canceled in several theaters. Thus the collection of Annatha film is said to have been affected.
Following this, Rajini has again given a call sheet to Sun Pictures. It has been reported that he has been offered a salary of Rs 70 crore for the new film. It is noteworthy that Rajini was earning a salary of Rs 100 crore.
