The foreign ministers of Peru and Ecuador reached agreements for the development of joint actions in security, infrastructure, environment and border integration.
This Friday, June 21, the foreign ministers of Peru, Javier González Olaechea, and of Ecuador, Gabriela Sommerfeld, signed a series of agreements within the framework of the XVI Ecuadorian-Peruvian Neighborhood Commission.
The meeting was led by Sommerfeld and important bilateral agreements were reviewed and established, especially in matters of security, infrastructure, environment and border integration.
The chancellor of Ecuador highlighted that the space allows “to promote political dialogue and cooperation between both countries.”
Additionally, the work carried out by the Binational Development Plan for the Border Region on the common border was reviewed.
According to the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry, the agreements “reflect the commitment of both governments to promote joint development.”
