The occupations continue in many university faculties, in the context of mobilizations against the bill regarding the establishment Non-State Universities.
Specifically, according to information, approximately 250 schools across the country are under occupation.
Central universities in Athens are closed (OPA, Philosophy, Panteio, etc.), while at the University of Macedonia (PAMAK), the occupation began on the 18th of the month and is expected to end on the 24th, in order to arrange the examination. According to an announcement from the Rector’s Office, all the lessons that were to be given this week will be moved to the middle of February.
At the Aristotle University, several faculties are under occupation, others continue their daily meetings, while permanent occupations are recorded in History-Archaeology and Law (until the 29th).
At the same time, the students are in constant meetings, in each school, in order to decide their next steps.
The exams and the remaining courses at the International University of Greece (DIPAE) are held normally.
All-education rally on Thursday
On Thursday January 25 at 12:00 it will take place in Propylaia all-education rally. At the same time, OLME announced a three-hour work stoppage with the aim of involving students and teachers in the march against private universities.
The teachers are also present, with the IOC having declared a three-hour strike from 11:00 to 14:00 and an additional strike to cover the teachers for the whole day (14:00 – 17:30).
