Eighty people suspected of child abuse were arrested this week in France, Agence France-Presse learned from a police source on Saturday, December 9.
The arrests took place in fifty-three departments, including two overseas, said this source, confirming information fromActu 17.
Among the suspects are two school teachers, one of whom had “images of children in his care”, specified the police source. A night supervisor in a home for children with disabilities is also one of the people accused.
These arrests were coordinated by the recently created Juvenile Office (Ofmin). Of the “pedocriminal content” were discovered during a search, said the police source.
At the end of police custody, fifty-one people were referred. Other police custody was lifted while technical exploitation was carried out, in particular of the suspects’ telephones or computers.
The Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, welcomed on and “big crackdown against child crime”. “Investigations are still ongoing”he added.
