Electricity Bill Payment Extension During Diwali Holidays – No Power Cut or Penalty

by time news

The Power Board in Tamil Nadu has announced that electricity consumers who are on the last day to pay their electricity bills during the Diwali holidays can pay their electricity bills today (14.11.23) without facing any power cut or penalty.

Diwali, the festival of lights, was celebrated last Sunday (12th) across the country. It is a time when people of all ages come together to exchange happiness by dressing in new clothes, bursting crackers, and sharing sweets.

In light of the festive season, all government offices, public sector institutions, schools, colleges, and educational institutions across Tamil Nadu were given a one-day holiday on the day after Diwali, i.e. Monday 13th, for the welfare of people returning to their hometowns.

As a result, Tamil Nadu Power Generation and Distribution Corporation offices were also given a holiday from the second Saturday (11th) through to the end of the Diwali festival (12th, 13th).

For those electricity consumers whose last day to pay their electricity bill fell on these holidays, the Power Board has assured that they can make their payment on 14.11.23 without any disconnection or penalty. Additionally, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has stated that if these consumers have already paid a penalty on 14.11.23, it will be deducted from their next month’s electricity bill.
