Embassy of Belarus in Treptow smeared

by time news

The Berlin police have increased protection for a total of 39 properties of diplomatic institutions in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. And yet one man managed to smear the Belarusian embassy in Treptow.

As it became known on Tuesday, a man attached banners to the embassy fence on Treptower Park Street on Monday afternoon and smeared the pillars of the entrance gate with red paint. A banner measuring 160 by 80 centimeters read “Here are the fascists” in Cyrillic script. The second banner, measuring 190 by 120 centimetres, read “The fascists live here” in German – framed by two swastikas.

Police arrested a suspected 38-year-old Belarusian who was waving an Antifa flag on the sidewalk. The banners were confiscated. The man was released after an identification service at a police station.
