The NBA has named replacements for Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Zion Williamson, packages, for the all-star game, February 19 in Salt Lake City.
Adam Silver has decided. Designated among the holders for the All Star Game 2023, Stephen Curry (Golden State), Kevin Durant (Brooklyn then Phoenix) and Zion Williamson (New Orleans) were forced to forfeit. It was expected, it is now official. As is customary, it is up to the Commissioner to choose from among the replacements in order to remedy these absences. In this case, the successor to the late David Stern did not have to think too long before promoting Joel Embiid (Philadelphia) and Ja Morant (Memphis), the two main forgotten in the list of holders. The third thief is called Lauri Markkanen (Utah), who will serve as regional stage during the All Star Game. The Finnish Jazz winger will indeed be at home in Salt Lake City.
To complete the list of players summoned to the Vivint Arena on February 19, Adam Silver has selected two neophytes, the teammate of French pivot Rudy Gobert at the T-Wolves Anthony Edwards (Minnesota) and De’Aaron Fox (Sacramento), as well as the Cameroonian Pascal Siakam (Toronto), who will therefore celebrate his second convocation. It is the captains, LeBron James (LA Lakers) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee), who will designate their one-day teammates via a draft which will take place just before the star game.
