Emilia Clarke, known worldwide as Daenerys Targaryen from “Game of Thrones,” was recently spotted purchasing blue cod in Wellington, New Zealand.
Wellington Seamarket announced the 39-year-old’s visit on Facebook, sharing a photo of the actress alongside a market employee. The fishmonger playfully suggested Clarke “instantly jumped on a plane to New Zealand” upon seeing their fresh seafood selection.
“She grabbed some blue cod, fresh out of the water this morning. Thanks for coming in, mother of dragons, we hope the long journey was worth it,” the market posted.
Clarke’s trip to Aotearoa isn’t solely for culinary exploration. She is currently filming an undisclosed project in New zealand, described as “dark” and “extremely uncomfortable” in a recent interview with TheWrap.
Earlier this month, Clarke appeared on the Today Show in the United States, seeking travel recommendations from her former “Game of Thrones” co-star, Jason Momoa. Momoa enthusiastically suggested immersing herself in Māori culture.
“You definitely want to go to a marae, and you want to meet some of the, you know, go to one of the iwi,” Momoa advised her at the time.He added that he would share further tips privately, not wanting to spoil the experience for Clarke by revealing them on television and potentially deterring a return visit.
