Netflix has greenlit a sixth season of the popular romantic dramedy, ‘Emily in Paris,’ less than three weeks after the premiere of its fifth installment. The renewal signals continued strong viewership for the series, which garnered 26.8 million views globally – equivalent to 155 million hours viewed – within its first 11 days.

The fifth season saw Emily (Lily Collins) navigate a professional opportunity and a budding romance in Italy, opening a satellite office for her marketing firm in Rome.though, despite the allure of a new life abroad, the series ultimately finds Emily reaffirming her commitment to Paris.
“She really chooses her own life in Paris and her work, and what she’s worked so hard to achieve,” a series insider revealed. “I think ultimately that’s where her heart was and it clarified for her the fact that she wants to be in Paris and she wants to live there, and it’s not a temporary thing.”
A Hint of Rekindled romance
the decision to remain in Paris also opens the door for a potential resurgence of the complicated relationship between Emily and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). While not immediate, the series creator suggested a path toward reconciliation.
“I don’t think that Emily and Gabriel would be… I don’t think it’ll be an instant relationship, though I do believe that people can find their way back to each other,” the insider stated. This hints at a central emotional arc for the upcoming season,building on the established will-they-won’t-they dynamic that has captivated audiences.
