French President Emmanuel Macron said Thursday, December 15, that he assumed “totally” to go to Qatar to support the French team during the World Cup. The president made it to the semi-finals and planned to make it to the final on Sunday. “I was behind the France team four years ago when it was in Russia and I am behind them in Qatar”, he continued. Emmanuel Macron felt that the French were in the same state of mind.
Reproaches are regularly made in Qatar regarding human rights, workers’ rights and environmental protection. Doha is also involved in a corruption scandal in the European Parliament.
