The president suggested the possibility of having a European anti-missile shield. He did not elaborate, but this term immediately evokes, of course, the famous Israeli Iron Dome, which demonstrated its formidable effectiveness during the recent missile and drone attack by Iran: more than 90% of the approximately 300 Iranian vectors destroyed before hitting their targets.
If the French president’s allusion may be surprising, it is because Europe is considering adopting such a system, but the initiative lies with Germany. And Paris, until now, has been reserved, even downright hostile.
