For its part, in accordance with the provisions of the User guide for the specialty selection process, from October 25 to November 15 was the period for each applicant to choose their favorite option. While from November 17 it was possible to print the proof of selection.
Official number of places granted
Recently the Ministry of Health (SSa) published some statistics about this year’s test. In the first instance, there were a total of 47,247 general practitioners who completed the process and came to take the exam.
Regarding the places granted, there were a total of 18,529 in the Mexican category and 362 in the foreign category. Therefore, a final figure of 18,891 places granted is obtained. With this, 39.2 percent of the applicants were accepted. The number is quite low because it means that only four in 10 will become residents.

It is quite similar to a job interview because you must come well presented, with a CV and answer basic questions such as the reasons why said hospital and specialty was selected. It is necessary to make a good impression to be chosen by the hospital authorities.
