Farhan took 7 wickets in the first innings for Nottinghamshire against Surrey in the County Championship ‘Division One’ match and took 3 more in the second innings. The match was drawn due to his great bowling skills. This spinner finished with 10 wickets at the cost of 217 runs in the match.

Farhan now holds the record of being the youngest cricketer to take 10 wickets in a first-class match on England soil. He achieved this feat in 16 years and 189 days. The previous record was held by G Grace. He achieved this feat when he was about 17 years old. He was then 16 years and 339 days old.

Grace achieved that feat 159 years ago in 1865 on his first-class cricket debut at the Oval. Grace avenged the failure with the bat for the Gentlemen of the South against the Players of the South with the ball. After taking 5 wickets for 44 runs in the first innings, he took 8 wickets for 40 runs in the second innings.

Earlier, Farhan took two more records in this match. He became Nottinghamshire’s youngest cricketer in first-class cricket when he played the match. He later became the youngest bowler to take five or more wickets in an innings in a first-class match on English soil.
