KYIV. April 26. UNN Scientific and security enterprises in the Chornobyl nuclear power plant zone have already returned to normal operation after being freed from the Russian occupiers last year, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said on Facebook, writes UNN.

He emphasized that 37 years ago the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant left a huge scar for the whole world. A radiation leak turned a once cozy and developed area into an exclusion zone. Today, the 30-kilometer zone around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant remains a dangerous place with a high concentration of radiation.

“Last year, the occupier not only seized the nuclear plant, but also put the whole world at risk again. More than a year has passed since the liberation. Scientific and security enterprises in the Chernobyl nuclear power plant zone have already returned to normal operation,” the President said.

According to him, Ukraine and the world paid a high price for the liquidation of the consequences of the disaster, which continues to this day.

“We must do everything to prevent the terrorist state from using nuclear energy facilities to blackmail Ukraine and the whole world,” Zelenskyy stressed.
