jpnn.comSURABAYA – The Mayor of Surabaya for the 2021-2024 period, Eri Cahyadi, has given his full commitment to synergize with Khofifah Indar Parawansa in building East Java (Jatim) to be more advanced in the future.
During Khofifah’s five years of leadership, East Java is considered successful in presenting a variety of proud achievements.
“Her leadership (Khofifah) made Surabaya and East Java Province harmonious and united. This is what can run the government synergistically. God willing, it will be a blessing for all,” said Eri Cahyadi in Surabaya, Monday (2/9).
Eri assessed that as the Governor of East Java for the 2019-2024 period, Khofifah was very successful in presenting full leadership with the achievement of great progress. This was clearly realized and felt directly by the community thanks to Khofifah’s five years of leading East Java.
During her leadership of East Java, Khofifah was able to significantly reduce poverty rates. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that poverty rates in East Java fell by 383,920 people in 2021-2023. This figure is the highest among other provinces.
Moreover, the extreme poverty rate in East Java in 2020 was 4.4 percent or equivalent to 1,812,210 people, dropping to 0.82 percent or equivalent to 331,970 people by 2023. This means that Khofifah has succeeded in reducing extreme poverty by 3.58 percent or equivalent to 1,480,140 people.
Such achievements, he added, are certainly real evidence of Khofifah’s great leadership that has been proven to provide great benefits. Making the condition of society increasingly better.
