By-election polling in Erode East assembly constituency was held yesterday. All these election proceedings were telecasted from each polling station through webcasting. Chief Electoral Officer Satyapratha Sahu at the Chennai Chief Secretariat monitored the voting in each polling station through video from the Election Control Room.

By-election polling in Erode East constituency was conducted smoothly without any untoward incident. Complaints received regarding the election proceedings have been forwarded to the District Election Officer for investigation.
As of 11 am 27.89 percent, 1 pm 44.56 percent, 3 pm 59.28 percent, 5 pm 70.58 percent, and 6 pm 74.69 percent. In the last general election, 66.77 percent votes were registered in that constituency.
Security
Out of the 5 companies of paramilitary forces deployed on security duty, 3 companies of paramilitary forces will go back after polling. The remaining 2 companies of paramilitary personnel will be on security duty till the counting of votes is over.
